A 1st. A 2nd.

June 27th and 28th was the annual Raccoon Rally cycling festival in Salamanca NY. IRMC’s Stephen Cummings and Chris Cioccio both raced the 50 mile road race on Saturday. Chris made the breakaway, and attacked the group of 5 with a bit under a mile to go. Chris showed his skills at time trialing by holding the gap FOR THE WIN! Good job Chris!

Steevo also raced the elite mountain bike race on Sunday. He and another racer got away from the field early in the race. They built their lead up to 7 minutes by the end of the 2 hour race. Steevo attacked his partner with about 3 miles to go and built a good gap on his rival before being reeled in on the last descent.

It is rare that a mountain bike race comes down to a sprint finish, however Steevo was on the losing end of this, finishing 2nd.
